How We Work
Listening
Often people do not get a chance to talk about the whole story of their experience before someone tries to give them solutions. Our focus is really understanding your experience, your existing skills, and places where new knowledge might be helpful.
Understanding Science
Science and psychoeducation can help you to make better sense of what is going on. The more you understand about what is happening in your mind and body, the better armed you are to find opportunities to make change.
Acceptance & Change
These ideas can seem like they are opposites but to enable yourself to make meaningful changes, it is important to acknowledge and understand where things are right now and how they got here. The aim to try to do this without judgement, which ultimately frees you up and enables change momentum to start and build.
Mind & Body
What you think, feel and believe about what is happening in your body influences the way that the brain interprets the neurological information it receives. The better we understand this, the greater influence we may have in how this interaction occurs.
Confidence
How to use the skills, the science, and the practices that we work on in session in everyday real life. Part of this is expecting bumps along the way (for this is normal and real change) and how to deal with those bumps effectively and quickly.
